Inventory Stock Status by Lot Number

QuickBooks Enterprise 2024 now offers a new report: Inventory Stock Status by Lot Number. This report shows the stock status of inventory items by lot number.

This is a great addition to QuickBooks reporting and will be very useful if you track lot numbers.

Lot numbers are available with QuickBooks Enterprise Advanced Inventory.

How to find the Inventory Stock Status by Lot Number Report

The new menu option is found by selecting Reports > Inventory

Here is an example of the report, which shows the inventory items and the lots below.

The new report shows

  • Quantity on Hand
  • Quantity on Sales Orders
  • Quantity Available
  • If you use expiration dates, a column will appear on the report

Where do I enter Lot Numbers?

Lot numbers can be entered on both purchase and sales forms.

Purchase forms with lot numbers include:

  • Items Receipts
  • Write Checks (Items Tab)

Sales Forms with lot numbers include

  • Sales Orders
  • Invoices
  • Sales Receipts
  • Refunds & Credits

Below is an example of a Sales Order with Lot numbers.

Clicking the arrow in the Lot Number field activates a drop-down box showing available lots and quantities for selection.
